Founder's Note

“A fabric remembers the hands that wove it, the air it breathed, and the lives it touched.” – Rta Kapur Chishti, Indian textile scholar

My earliest memories are of afternoons spent in my grandmother’s home, playing with her sarees and odhanis — running my fingers over the weaves, feeling the weight of their folds, inhaling her faint fragrance that clung to the fabrics. Those drapes held more than colour and cloth; they carried the warmth of her embrace, the rustle of her laughter, and the quiet dignity of her years.

Even as a child, I understood the world most deeply through touch.

I am a tactile soul — my strongest memories come from what I can feel. Textiles, for me, are not just materials; they are vessels of texture, scent, memory, and emotion.

When I design for GuulPosh, I begin not with a sketch, but with a feeling — the emotion in a weave, the memory in a fabric spun by a weaver’s hands, the scent of rain on the loom, the rhythm of both struggle and joy in its making. From there, I imagine silhouettes that blend the ease of today with the grace of yesterday.

To me, timeless clothing is a living companion. It grows with you, wears into your story, and someday, carries enough love and memory to be passed on to the next generation. It is rooted in culture, shaped by the present, and softened by the years — just like the heirlooms I once played with as a little girl.

GuulPosh is my handwriting in fashion — a layering of nostalgia, the echo of our cultural heritage, and the comfort that lets the body breathe. Each piece is a quiet celebration of the moments it will live through, and the memories it will one day hold.
